Spearheaded by youth leaders based in Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, we are now expanding to the rest of Malaysia as an NGO registered SOA Malaysia. The NGO carries the same mission to youth movement for ocean literacy and advocating for a sustainable ocean through acceleration of solutions.

SOA MY OceanHope stands as Malaysia's inaugural hub within the Sustainable Ocean Alliance's global network. SOA Malaysia aligns with UN Ocean Decade by driving tangible initiatives within Malaysia that addresses decade challenges through ocean literacy and community empowerment.

Innovation & Social Entrepreneurship Seascape Explorer Project has been established under the University–Community Social Enterprise & University Social Enterprise Competition (USCE & USEC), organised by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) in collaboration with MAKMUM, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM).

Seascape Explorer: Conserving Nature, Improving Lives is a social entrepreneurship initiative under Project Ocean Hope that aims to strengthen eco-tourism and community-based enterprises through the integration of marine conservation, education, and sustainable livelihoods.

The programme is carried out with the Setiu community at Setiu Wetland, focusing on improving activity modules and marketing to enhance eco tourism and economic benefits. Through collaboration with NGOs, UMT academic staff, and student clubs, Seascape Explorer develops eco tourism modules and provides marketing training to support community skills development and long term sustainability.

The programme adopts a hands-on, community-engaged approach, where students apply academic knowledge in marine science and marketing to real-world eco-tourism challenges. Through structured module development, training sessions, and stakeholder engagement, Seascape Explorer aims to build long term capacity within the Setiu community while providing practical entrepreneurial experience for students.
